Max Payne 3 launch trailer is working through some issues

Max Payne 3 is preparing to dive (in slow-motion) into stores, and Rockstar has released the launch trailer to mark the occasion.

Max Payne has been through some tough times, though he probably should've seen that coming when he looked at his own name. Max Payne 3 takes the character to Sao Paulo, Brazil on business. Unfortunately for Max Payne, his business is getting shot at.

The new trailer is cinematic as you'd expect from Rockstar, complete with plenty of slow-mo and melodramatic narration. At this point we almost hope the game ends with Max sipping margaritas on a beach, because come on; the guy's got to catch a break sometime, right?

I do not understand why the Shack video player is so bad. This is a badass trailer and it's such a disservice to do... whatever it is that the Shack video player does to otherwise pretty videos :(

Here's Shack's video player set to 720p full screen:

Here's the same video on YouTube in 720p full screen:

Shack has always been horrible with media, for as long as I can remember. I think they downsample the video and then just stretch it to the requested resolutions.

It is a bug in our video player, which will be fixed in the future from what I understand. You can always download the full, uncompressed source files from http://www.shacknews.com/files if you'd like.

shack has always sucked at videos. not really sure why. it's like they try to make it look horrible so you go to better sites like GameTrailers.com to check things out.

Hehe, that's cute. He still doesn't look anything like the Max in the previous games, but they keep telling me he got older - that's alright. But they couldn't keep the same accent either, and his voice and way of talking is so different too.

Same name, kinda the same music...

That's funny, since this time they're not only using the original voice actor (instead of, say, Mark Wahlberg) but also his likeness, which they didn't do for the first two games.

Man I really want to get this, as I loved the old Max Payne games, but afraid it's going to be short and I probably won't play the MP much. Plan on waiting until it goes on sale.
