Hitman: Sniper Challenge is 'replayable' sniping spin-off
by Andrew Yoon, May 08, 2012 2:30pm PDTWhen Square Enix filed a trademark for Hitman: Sniper Challenge, we doubted the publisher was working on a third big-budget addition to the assassination franchise. Indeed, it appears we were right. A leaked advertisement from an upcoming issue of Game Informer describes Sniper Challenge as a downloadable game for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 that will coincide with the launch of Hitman: Absolution.
"Scope. Score. Go back for more," the ad details, promising a "replayable sniping mission." Note the lack of a plural in that bullet point.
The ad also reveals a GameStop promotion, where you'll be able to pick up Sniper Challenge for free by pre-ordering from the retailer. Given the game will offer "awesome prize packages for top snipers," it'll behoove headshot experts to get in on the action early.
Square Enix has yet to announce the game, but is promising a reveal on May 10th via its Facebook page. And oh look, he's holding a sniper rifle...
