With the recent reveals of Black Ops 2 and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a new game must take up the mantle of "worst-kept secret in the games industry." That's looking more and more to be the next Need for Speed game, largely rumored to be Most Wanted 2. The sequel appeared in EA's financial report as an "announced title," a mistake given that the publisher didn't announce the game. This year's Need for Speed will be rather prolific, hitting consoles, handhelds, mobile devices, and PC. Last month, a listing for Most Wanted 2 appeared on a retail website--one notorious for other leaks, including Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode. It's rumored that Criterion, developer of 2010's Hot Pursuit, is handling this year's entry.

Autolog is going to make this game stupid. My hope is that they don't go all Fast & Furious with the car paint jobs this time around. Also I'm not sure if this is a Criterion production, but I hope it is.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Criterion should stick to what they know, aka Burnout.

They proved they couldn't make a Need For Speed game with Hot Pursuit, the handling (if it could be called that) was completely wrong for a NFS title, APB had about the same handling when it launched.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I hope someone else is making this new game.

I thought that Criterion did a superb job with NFS Hot Pursuit (2010). I wish Criterion did The Run as well, perhaps then that one wouldn't have blown :(
