New Need for Speed confirmed for 2012

With the recent reveals of Black Ops 2 and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a new game must take up the mantle of "worst-kept secret in the games industry." That's looking more and more to be the next Need for Speed game, largely rumored to be Most Wanted 2.
The sequel appeared in EA's financial report as an "announced title," a mistake given that the publisher didn't announce the game.
This year's Need for Speed will be rather prolific, hitting consoles, handhelds, mobile devices, and PC. Last month, a listing for Most Wanted 2 appeared on a retail website--one notorious for other leaks, including Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode. It's rumored that Criterion, developer of 2010's Hot Pursuit, is handling this year's entry.
