Baldur's Gate Enhanced lead writer announced
by John Keefer, Apr 26, 2012 1:00pm PDTWhen Baldur's Gate Enhanced was announced, publisher Beamdog promised new content would be part of the game. So it comes as no surprise that as they add more staff to the project, they would add people with experience with the Forgotten Realms.
Veteran writer Dave Gross has joined developer Overhaul Games as the lead writer for BGEE, Beamdog announced today via press release. Gross spent time with TSR as an editor on Polyhedron Newszine and later as editor of the Dungeons & Dragons magazine. He later expanded into fantasy novels, penning Black Wolf and Lord of Stormweather in the Forgotten Realms universe. He has also written several other fantasy novels.
"I was sitting in a coffee shop complaining about the lack of classic RPGs for the iPad, when Trent [Oster, Beamdog president] appeared in a sulphurous cloud and said 'Have I got a job for you,'" Gross said.
Overhaul also recently hired Nat Jones as art director. Jones has been a key figure in the comics and film industry, working on such projects as Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer: Shadows of Mirahan and 30 Days of Night.
