Word recently came that Resident Evil creator's first game at his new studio Tango Gameworks would be a return to his roots, a survival horror codenamed Zwei. Now publisher Bethesda Softworks has formally confirmed that, and shared a little concept art to get you in the mood. "A true 'survival horror' game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear," Mikami said in Bethesda's announcement. "I've found my focus and once again I'm striving for pure survival horror. I am being very hands-on in the development of this game to ensure that the quality is there. Rest assured." Mikami's last two games were Vanquish at Platinum Games and Shadows of the Damned with Grasshopper Manufacture, which he respectively served on as director and creative director. Bethesda doesn't have any new word on which platforms Zwei will hit, though. Mikami told Famitsu magazine that it'll likely hit HD consoles, at least, though Bethesda does like its PC releases too. There's also no word on when it's due to be released.

I always find it amusing when someone say's HD consoles. Given 720p is HD, barely, it's a far cry from True HD content. Regardless, that's not what amuses me the most. It's that idea that any truly HD experience should have jaggies and terrible black levels :p. See jaggies in HD!

On a side note, what do jaggies look like in 3D?
