Spec Ops: The Line multiplayer trailer claims sand is a 'gamechanger'

Sure, Spec Ops: The Line may look like your ordinary third-person cover-based shooter. But 2K Games wants you to think it's more than that. In fact, the latest trailer claims that the sand-based gameplay offered in The Line is a "gamechanger."

In fact, the latest trailer claims that the sand-based gameplay offered in The Line is a "gamechanger." While we've seen its dramatic effects in single-player, how will it work in multiplayer?

The Line pits two factions against each other: The Damned and The Exiles. As is standard nowadays, there will be class-based skills and rewards. However, the addition of sand will allow for vision-blocking sandstorms, and best of all, avalanche traps. But will that be enough? Watch for yourself:

Spec Ops: The Line will be available in June. As expected, pre-orders will be entitled to a number of multiplayer-oriented bonuses.

Gimmick gameplay, just like Hydrophobia. News to game devs: one trick does not a magic show make.
