Guild Wars 2 first beta weekend announced

Guild Wars 2 will get its first beta weekend soon. NCsoft and ArenaNet have announced that it will kick off next week, April 27-29, for those who have bought their way into the test. The developer didn't share more details on how frequently these weekends will come, so clear your schedule if you get into the first one.

Beta access is granted through pre-purchasing the game. It starts at $60 for the standard edition, $80 for the Digital Deluxe, and $150 for the Collector's Edition. Pre-purchases will also get three days of early access to the game before its official launch, and a Hero's Band item.

    Just want to clarify, you have to pre-purchase the game (as in pay the full price) in order to qualify for the beta weekends. Pre-ordering will only get you a one day head start when the game releases.
