Darksiders 2 delayed to August

Darksiders 2 has been delayed into August, THQ and developer Vigil Games have announced.

The horsemen cometh, but they cometh a little slower than you thoughteth. Darksiders 2 has been delayed until August, following some telltale comments from executive VP Danny Bilson that started churning the rumor mill. The announcement claims this will give the game "additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders 2 meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting."

An attached FAQ goes on to state that the release date will still vary by region, and the exact dates will come soon. It also gets out ahead of potential rumors by stating emphatically that the delay wasn't due to the Wii U launch, or the recent layoffs. The game itself and future DLC plans remain unchanged. When asked if another delay is possible, the self-imposed FAQ curiously ducks a direct answer, but insists that this delay is merely for final polishing.

The delay makes good on recent comments from Bilson. He said they wouldn't "ship it before it's done," and promised that THQ will give Vigil Games "everything they need to make it as good as it can be" -- including some extra time, apparently. He remarked that in the case of both Darksiders 2 and South Park, THQ "can't afford to ship it until it's perfect."

All the best THQ, don't mess up with this one else it'll be the last title that you ship.

maybe they could have finished it on time if they hadn't laid off all those people.

I'm on PC, is the first one worth playing?

It's never really cropped up on my radar but with a sequel coming out I'm wondering if I should give the first one a bash.

        100% worth it.
Its a really good game and the controls are nicely done. Well.. when i played it, it even felt it was easier to play it with a mouse (with 2 buttons on the side, for dodging and blocking) and keyboard, than with a gamepad XD.

Its kind of a mix between zelda and god of war / devil may cry :).

Agreed, also, it starts slow but gets consistently better as you play so keep at it if you get bored.

You can even alt-tab and the game is perfectly fine!

          It's a 'good' port.

Yes. The prologue is meh but stick with it, the rest of the game is very good
