Awesome, great news. Tis is interesting huh --> A bad experience with Nintendo leaves no hope of a Wii U version

OH I hope so --> Icewind Dale is a candidate for enhancement if BGEE is a success. The game would use the BGEE code base.

Icewind Dale kinda makes more sense, in that the game is much closer to BG in terms of UI design and everything. That, and the structure makes doing something like cleaning up the rules changes between the two games easier, as opposed to Torment which is a complete game by itself, and not in any need of additions or tweaks.

I would say I am disappointed in that I just bought all of the originals on GOG......BUT more BG is better! I may support it just to see if they'll kick out new games in this vein down the road.

no support for xbox because of controller issues but they are showing it off on an ipad touch screen which is just godly for controls!

this is bad even relative to your usual stupid controller posts. It's pretty obvious why touch maps better to a point and click game...

well yeah, a touchpad can emulate a mouse pretty well.

This just brought back horrible memories of creating my group, saving the character files, manually hex editing them (rather than wait for the perfect roll) and re-importing them. Then feeling more and more guilty and starting all over again 12 hours in.

I wonder what their bad experience with Nintendo was.

They remembered they had a Wii last summer and couldn't remember turning it on since before Obama was elected.

so have they ever actually said this is going to be on the PC? Because all I see are pictures of it on the ipad and press statements that it's gonna be out for mac and ipad. Even the original press release makes no mention of the PC.

ipad is sexier, but their meat will be the PC i think.

Yes, it will be on PC as well. iPad is just the nicer, more advertising friendly way to show it off (and honestly, will probably be the most profitable platform)

Nothing particularly honest about that assumption. PC is very strong for smaller niche indie releases, and in many ways easier than dealing with strident brand oriented platform holders like Apple, Microsoft and Sony.

PC niche for indie stuff is probably different from nostalgia though. It's not like BG is a cute little game no one knows.

My iOS assumption is mostly due to how fucking starved the platform is for real RPGs. There's plenty of other options on PC, including the GoG versions.

Hell yes. I was really never into BG 1/2, but FO2 is one of my favorite games ever, and I can barely remember FO1. I felt like a sucker after I paid over 10 eur for Final Fantasy III for the iPad, the game is outdated and not for me, but I'd gladly pay such a price for fallouts.

Those games would rock on the pad. Really, all TB games are a perfect fit - it is surprising no classic TB games have been ported to the iPad yet. Where is my Panzer general, Apple???
