Getting older. Taxes. New Mario games on Nintendo hardware. Some things in life are simply inevitable. So, forgive us for not being surprised when Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that a new Super Mario game will be headed to the company's next home console, the Wii U.

"Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year's E3 Expo," a Nintendo spokesperson said.

"We'll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date," the company told Eurogamer.

The new Mario game will have to showcase the benefit of Wii U's unique tablet-like interface. Other games coming to the Wii U include a new Pikmin title, which Miyamoto claims will "take advantage of the new HD screen resolution."

Guess what - It'll be more powerful than PS360 together. Atleast 3-4 times more than X360.
Id Software has confirmed they're also having discussions about it - but the reason they're not sure about it is because they fail to recognize "hardcore" audience. I've spoken to community managers - long story short - my message was that they should research a bit more - actual hardcore nintendo's audience does like FPS games especially the Metroid Prime series, and i would buy an id software game - they do not have to modify game quality to appeal to casuals - if they think "hardcore" is modern warfail then we have a poblem. Today's COD gameplay is mainstream, you see what what happened with Crysis 2 being a total COD clone - CEO admitted failure, the whole legacy and company image was ruined by the Crysis 2 disaster - they knew the design and gameplay would compromise the franchise but they thought the X360 sales would be so good - Crysis 2 failed to live up to the original in creative and financial success - double fail for - a punishmet for hogging stupid trends and following suits.

Hopefully id makes it on nintendo without compromises !!!
Can everyone please stop following suits of the "3rd party Wii test game"

System power does not matter compared to whether or not this next Mario game is a gameplay model that is distinctly identifiable with the Wii U controller. I will lose all faith in Nintendo innovations if this game is yet another iteration of the Mario 64 format. It's hightime they abandon the N64 gameplay models and start redefining their games with their redefinition of how a controller should be.

The audience of the Wii that bought games like Zelda/Mario/Metroid ... and a few others - would NEVER EVER buy the "Wii Test Game" - Developers were SO WRONG with their thinking.

I mean ... they're all saying how nintendo this nintendo that - you western americans are the biggest haters of nintendo. I think they just cannot admit the FIRST PARTIES are too good :P You have all of these excuses how it doesn't work this it doesn't work that ... well fine - i mean nintendo was right , HDTVs only now have entered mass production that we seen in these recent 2 years - i got my first HDTV only last year and we bought 2. I don't think nintendo is late at all ...

Maybe in america HDTVs were more sold since TECH is normally cheaper there than anywhere else , not just that ,but the $ = € scam in europe also.

Id Software's Tim Willits said exactly that how "too much competition" from licensed games and first parties (licensed are essentially outsourced development that helps nintendo owned franchises but those games have tons of supervision so it's like a nintendo game but the quality does differ, one of such games was F-Zero GX - which miyamoto said that didn't deliver , but still F-Zero GX was and is one of the best and most hardest high speed racers, new Fzero was hinted from miyamoto for WiiU YES!!!! )

modern warfail is nothing new - it's not something i made up - most of the hardcore PC players who were abandoing COD at the time of MW2's release. You haven't been following the clusterfick between the IW and ATVI .. i have it followed to the slightest detail.

          Also check out this: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1909891&postcount=60

There was a site called www.modernwarfail2.com that had a community around all of the MW2 news , most of the news being the factual evidence of how big of a FAIL the game was and how PC users were ridiculing it - do you think this is some kind of unbased trolling - you're wrong. The franchises has become a total disaster ever since, it's a yearly milk cow.

theres also techpowerup.com ..... specifically for wiiu stuff is in pastebin links ... also the tech discussion is mostly by already experienced pc tech guys .... rarely would a console only gamer have an idea about this without past experience ... thats mostly acquired by advanced pc usage for various development programs, game tweaking, modding, custom hardware building, overclocking, game server hosting, photoediting, programming, operating system tweaking & customizing, heavy internet researching, working to try to find a workaround your self, eager for a challenge , hardware enthusiasm, pc maintenance - software/hardware problem solving

example: if you play x360 and never opened it up to the hardware level and have an apple computer or windows pc where you only check mail, visit a forum, fb and watch youtube while letting others to set up stechnical stuff or to computer repair shop(which tends to screw you over) then you probably dont have an idea about whats going on and wat im talkin for wiiu here.
these people are so easy to detect .... theres one up there that called me im mental an laughed about it - so inexperienced about the subject and the industry that he couldnt have possibly known where i got that info .... when a person like that is presented with information shock it cannot handle because of various and/or multiple combined reasons as mentioned, that usually results in desperate attempt to discredit the information and/or person as a defensive measure to make them feel good, or to escape reality.

Check the links in the pastebin itself - the introduction was for the noobs.

We have made a conclusion with the communities that those anonymous developers "sources" from GamesIndustry.biz can only be:

            1. Stupid developers with old kits, early engine, unoptimized middleware etc etc (old rumor getting out)
            2. April Fools
            3. Fake , BS

The rumor had very low validity - it was scrutinized and thereafter ignored by the tech communities.

On that you're right, i am nintendo fan on top of being a pc geek, as a tech guy i like the idea of speculation based on research, valid rumors, past experience, detective work around the web , as a tech guy this is interesting an fun for me, as a challenge where you have to work out a picture with puzzles while some are totally missing, some are less fittin than others, some dont fit at all and are fskes some are loose that means you dont know if they fit or not because you dont know the neighbouring ones or related ones so you dont know where to put them into picture. the journey is the destination hehe ... im usually not that worried about games ... i know first parties will be fine, im also a patient person , but deep down i do hope for one game that would surprise me, f-zero.

my whole point posting here was to spread the correct and highly credible expectations and assumptions for the wiiu hardware in gpu specs ... thats the most credibl info we have ... there are many other rumors. also confirmed: wiiu to support 2 tablet controllers; 3d stereoscopic capability

Nintendo has a lot to prove this E3. If the tech doesn't deliver a huge upgrade over current games it will be a Dreamcast. I hope it isn't but Nintendo needs to dip into that war chest if it wants to win back the core audience. I know I'm not buying any consoles until they are all out in the open. As for id supporting it, who cares they can not even make Rage on the PC support SLI or have proper vsync LOL.

I bet N will not even disclose the specs of the Wii U just like the Wii, no one will ever know what they are buying(both the web site, packaging and manual had no details).

http://www.nintendo.com/wii/what-is-wii/#/tech-specs (yeah we just put something in it and its called a Gamecube)

http://us.playstation.com/ps3/techspecs/160gb.html (don't bet on seeing the actual ingredients of the Wii U like this or any other product you buy of the shelf)

Once they have a web site for the Wii U with the specs then we will talk.

You're comparing consoles with PCs there. That totally invalids your argument. PC don't have the luxury of their hardware being fully accessible by the developers / bypassing the API, that's called programming directly to the metal. (machine code)

I am personally been following everything with RAGE and we there all know what happend with the PC driver debocle, Carmack expressed his opinions about the PC drivers many times / its the limitations of the proprietary drivers and API that deny access to overwrite them or bypass them, a lot of stuff is unoptimized due to layers of code that separate the game code, so no matter what id Software does its down to the drivers. Carmack complained about the DirectX pretending to be able to do something, while the driver was doing something completely different in the background. Abstraction that this is, is sometimes okay depending on the situation, the APIs provide faster and possibly easier development, but in other situations abstraction can kill your performance. Rage technologz was actually AHEAD of AMDs openGL drivers. Carmack then complained that the Rage engine codebase has been littered and messed up from the hacks they need to implement for the patches to work around the driver issues.

Watch QuakeCon2011 John Carmack Keynote confernce 5 times, or until you understand everything he says, and get back to me if you have more questions.

what console lately has allowed programming in machine code? What developer would be crazy enough to do that?

Ok and your point? What does that have to do with what I said? I am pointing out that the brilliant JC cannot not even get SLI to work for the PC with his engine(and yeah I saw that keynote so what). Not having SLI implemented is not a driver issue its not implemented in Rages case there is a difference. I hope you understand the difference I be more than happy to explain it to you.

If id is supporting the Wii U so what, it no longer has the weight as it once did.

Did you hear Capcom has said they will not have a Wii U version of RE6? Or did you not happen to read that information?

Rage still has many broken things or not implemented, SLI, vsync and the cuda gpu transcode feature. So like I said id does not really have any weight any more as it once did. The launch of PC Rage was a disaster it makes JC keynotes look pointless. Rage PC should of been flawless and it was not.

Hey buddy I am a software developer if you did not know for over 12 years and been game programming for 2 I really do not have anything else to say other than I hope you enjoy your Wii U.

Nintendo has research facilities all over the world, primarly in Japan and united states. All of the Nintendos HQ know about it, the first american person to be the boss of any nintendo HQ is Reggie Fils Aime , which he confirmed him self that he has access to information early in the development. Nintendo of America is just the regional HQ , there are other sub companies in USA that may be reporting directy to NCL, regional guys know and obviously can influence the final product. I doubt that Reggie goes in and decides if there should be more RAM or not. So that might be coincidentially correct / but the point of talking that as a regards to me having inside information because someone here accused me i have uncle or dad working at nintendo is completely ridicolous, since im not even from usa in the first place, and there is no nintendo office in my country either in europe :p
