It looks like Anand (and consequently myself) were both wrong about the V5-6000 shipping date. Brian Burke sent along this PP presentation that they were showing at E3 which states the card is shipping July 16th, and not June 16th.

btw- case covers can actually improve airflow over certain areas inside a case, depending on the case design, and improve cooling to certain components?

The big thing I'm wondering about is heat. With 4 hot chips pumping out heat being spread into an already warm case with an oc chip in it, we could be looking at a china syndrome here.
