The point-and-click adventure genre is getting a quiet revival from those who remember it fondly, and another pair of original creators are coming back to lend their own voices. Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy, who served as programmers on the 80s classic Space Quest, have formed their own studio and are working on a new game.
Gamasutra reports the new studio is titled "Guys from Andromeda." If that wasn't enough to convince you they're still sci-fi geeks, their first project is another sci-fi point-and-click adventure game, tentatively called "Two Guys Spaceventure."
It won't be entirely a classical throwback, though, as the duo says they're aiming to modernize the experience. "The way games are made and gotten into a player’s home has changed greatly," the studio said in a statement. "We are adapting to the changes, taking advantage of them and charting our own course through space and looking forward to finding that 'new game smell.'"
