Capcom, Sega, Namco Bandai collaboration revealed as Project X Zone

The teased collaboration between Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai has been revealed as Project X Zone, a strategy RPG featuring characters from famous franchises.

The collaboration between Japanese publishers Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai has been revealed. Titled "Project X Zone" (pronounced "Project Cross Zone"), the 3DS strategy RPG features characters from various famous franchises.

Japanese magazine Famitsu (via Andriasang) reports that the featured characters will generally be paired together for battles. The original announcement also included mention of Banpresto, a toy and arcade subsidiary of Namco Bandai. Namco Bandai's games do include Super Robot Wars, originally a Banpresto franchise.

A trailer is due later this month. Famitsu has put up a gallery of screenshots showing off the animated style. Check out the character line-ups below.

Sega: Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars), Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter), Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles), Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5/Shining Force)
