The first downloadable content pack for Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode has been announced--and surprisingly, it will be free. The "Resurgence Pack" adds two new maps to the co-op Galaxy at War experience, in addition to new playable characters, new weapons, and new items.

"Resurgence" adds playable Batarians and Geth, as well as the Asari Justicar Adept, and Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard.

The new maps are Firebase Condor, a warzone outpost located on one of Palaven's moons, and Firebase Hydra, an abandoned Quarian colony.

The DLC pack will be available on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Origin on April 10th.

      Well shit. That's fun.

Batarians, really? I'd rather play as a vorcha than a batararian.

The only good batarian is a dead batarian.

That's why I feel the ending to the Arrival DLC was pure Paragon no matter how you went about it.

didnt the batarians come with some preorder from somewhere? are these the same ones that they're now giving out for free?

You're thinking about the Bring Down the Sky ME1 DLC, where the Batarian race was introduced.

Glad to see more multiplayer content coming. I've really been enjoying the multiplayer.

That said, I really hate the "Over 75 Perfect Scores" line at the end. It came across as, "See, you whiners are making an issue where there isn't one."

I think it says more about how games journalism needs to improve than anything else

The best review I've seen for ME3 was Angry Gamer Joe. He gave it a good score and still wasn't happy at the end. Ultimately he enjoyed the game as a whole. He even made a spin off review of the ending which brought up a lot of good points.

That might start to make up for the lack of dodging. I'm rather enjoying my Turian Infiltrator now that I've respecced away from Tech Armor, but that lack of a dodge is a killer (if I may be permitted).

Seriously. I also hope that the Geth Infiltrator is best played like a Geth Hunter enemy -- cloaking behind high-value targets and blowing heads off with a shotgun.

It is a paragon choice to save the Batarians...
renegade choice to kill the quarians...
and an assimilation choice to nail an Asari =P

I wouldn't be surprised if all multiplayer DLC ends up being free. After all they have the micro-transactions to fall back on and what better way to get you to spend money on them, than to give you more content to unlock.
