Sonic co-creator joins Nintendo
by John Keefer, Apr 05, 2012 10:45am PDTSonic the Hedgehog and Mario have been flagship faces for Sega and Nintendo through the years, independently waging war against each other on various platforms. Now, one of the original co-creators of Sonic has joined forces with Nintendo.
Industry veteran Hirokazu Yasuhara will be joining the Nintendo Software Technology division in Redmond, Washington, according to Gamasutra, although neither Nintendo or Yasuhara have divulged what he will be doing there.
Yasuhara joined Sega in 1988, where he worked with Yuji Naka on the Sonic franchise games for the Genesis and Saturn platforms. He has also worked at Naughty Dog on the Jak & Daxter and Uncharted, as well as 2K Sports. His last stop prior to Nintendo was a stint with Namco Bandai, which he left a month ago.
