Ubisoft recommends gamepad for Assassin's Creed 3 PC
by Steve Watts, Mar 28, 2012 12:30pm PDTAssassin's Creed 3 has earned some goodwill, even after the sour taste left by the series' annual semi-sequels. PC players might be sad, though, to learn that Ubisoft isn't optimizing the experience for mouse and keyboard controls.
"We're definitely supporting PC, we love PC, but I think it'll be PC with a controller," creative director Alex Hutchinson told GameSpy. "I don't see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin's Creed, you have a controller."
The sentiment doesn't sound too different from the effort put into PC versions of previous Assassin's Creed games. They've let you play with M/KB, but weren't quite designed for it. AC3 looks to be a similar experience, so don't hold out hope that this will be the game that nails the PC control set-up.
