Two former Tomb Raider developers have started their own studio, and are currently at work on an iOS title. Lady Shotgun Games is composed of Anna Marsh and Sarah van Rompaey, formerly of Eidos. Little is known about the game, other than being a universal iOS app aiming for release this year.

"There has never been a better time to do something as an indie" Marsh told Gamasutra. "It's possible to develop a great game for mobile on a realistic budget, so we're embracing the moment!" A few pieces of concept art for the unnamed title are available on the Lady Shotgun site. The studio says the game is an action title inspired by previous projects, but it doesn't "immediately resemble" them.

Marsh notes that the studio is mostly women, with only a few freelancing men listed on the staff page, which she attributes to a "flexible work ethic." She says that since both she and Rompaey needed time to take care of their kids, they wanted to form a studio in which everyone could choose their hours. "We felt that the necessity to have a whole team in a physical office location working long hours was usually bourne of an insufficient pre-production period and overly tight scheduling," she said.

The game will begin as a universal app when it launches, and Lady Shotgun is hoping to expand it to more platforms afterwards.
