Dragon's Lair may be the most ubiquitous game ever, having graced nearly ever platform ever. It's finally making its way to Xbox 360 later this year via Xbox Live Arcade--and it will be "enhanced" with Kinect support. Don't worry, though. The classic Don Bluth video adventure is simply Kinect optional, as the game will take advantage of both standard and motion controls. Although Xbox 360 will be the sixty sixth platform Dragon's Lair has graced, the Kinect support should offer some meaningful (or at least, novel) change for the game. While the announcement doesn't detail the actual controls, the presence of these silhouettes gives us a good idea what to expect:

Wow such a bad fit for kinnect! Dragon's Lair is not an easy game because it requires quick reflexes. The software lag alone would be enough to make some scenes impossible, then add the time it takes to pose on top of that!

Well since I know all the moves by heart (a few mess ups in singes lair), and I have purchases this game for every console possible including 3do and iPhone I bet I will buy this too. Might be fun.

lol yeah, I'm in the same boat. The original arcade game was great, because once you cleared it you would just start over again. I would sit there for over an hour on a single quarter until I would get bored and quit. Good times.

Wonder if they'll use the HD master from the blu-ray version or the old digital transfer for the cd-rom release. I'll at least download the demo and check out the image quality.

So many fond memories with this game.

I had no idea this was available on blu-ray now! It's about sodding time.. I've bought this game too many times (and been disappointed too many times). I wonder whether anyones bothered ripping the blu-ray for use with Daphne (or if Daphne is even in development anymore).. time to have a google.

Does anyone actually like this game? I always thought it was a game devised solely to devour quarters at the arcade.

Yes and it was very popular in Arcades. I would just watch people play it and be in awe that they knew all the moves. I was terrible at this game until it came home to 3do. Remember this is a time where there was no game faqs oe Internet to reference if you did not know the next move you would die till you got it right hence the quarter gobbling. This was also the first game to charge 50 cents a play at my local arcade (still in business to this day). I have often wanted to own a dragons lair arcade cabinet because of its unique shape and awesome art but never could pull the trigger due to fear of laser disc issues.
