Cyanide Studio did a decent job of turning a tabletop game into a video game with Blood Bowl, and soon we'll get to see its stab at another adaptation in Confrontation. Based on the vintage miniatures wargame by Rackham, it's coming to PC on April 5, publisher Focus Home Interactive announced today.

Confrontation's a splash of tactical combat, a dose of RPG, and a pinch of fantasy. Your squad persists across missions (missions to kill things), gaining experience, adding new units, levelling up and gearing up as you go.

Here's the first trailer, with a peek at the world of Aarklash:

Blood Bowl was terrible. The controls were unintuitive, the "real time" play was clunky, the "turn based" play was just like the realtime but slower, and I wanted to strangle the announcers.

Confrontation's initial US release was under 10 years ago. That's vintage now?
