As with Telltale's last effort, Jurassic Park: The Game, The Walking Dead: The Game will be on nearly every platform imaginable. The episodic adventure will begin this April on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, PC, Mac, and iOS.

Unfortunately, Telltale has yet to reveal what the gameplay will be like. We do know it won't be inspired by Super Mario Sunshine. "We don't have a water-based jetpack that you can use in this game," lead designer Jake Rodkin previously joked.

Will The Walking Dead be more in line with Telltale's Sam & Max adventure games? Or will it be a QTE-fest, a la Jurassic Park--which received damning reviews? IGN promises we'll see actual gameplay footage next week. For now, settle for this developer diary:

This game comes out next month and they still haven't said anything about the gameplay?

      WTF Telltale?

true but it looks really good in the screenshots, hopefully the animation is better than their previous games

I fear it will be similar to Jurassic Park with poorly designed staged Quantic Dreams style Quick Time Event gameplay. It was the first of their games I didn't enjoy.

To note, it pains me to say that. I hope that even if it is QTE, they've learned from Jurassic Park and improved. Still, I don't think I'll be buying this before release. Sadface.

The game already came out a few years ago: it was called Left 4 Dead.

Considering the fact that the show has turned to complete dogsh*t since Frank Darabont left, why on earth would anyone assume that the video game will be anything more than a pile of sh*t?

the second half of season 2 has been great. it's still got a lot of forced drama, but it's much better than before.

It's got way better. Plus there is that little comic series that is great.

Considering the fact that your opinion about the show has nothing to do with the game, your post seems to be sh*t.

Name one show that was awful and yet had great derivative products.

          Me: 1. You: 0.

The CSI game, by Telltale? Or is that too on the nose?

If it's a valid and appropriate example, which serves to undermine my argument, then yes I think it's too on-the-nose and should be ignored :)

The second half of season 2 is about a billion times better than anything from season 1.

You are broken. The last 6 or 7 episodes have been fucking awesome. And I'm not saying that lightly. I watch a lot of TV.

this should be an action adventure game instead

Well they do adventure games so it's probably a bit like one of those!

In one of the promo vids, Video Games, Famous, and Gary Whitta talk some about the story branching being more involved than anything Telltale has done yet. So that's something.
