C&C Tiberium Alliance in open beta

Battling over tiberium has had its entertaining and pulse-pounding moments, unless you played Command & Conquer 4. Hopefully, the excitement will return now that the series has gone browser-based MMORTS. And now you can help test the game before it goes live.

Electronic Arts announced that Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances, Phenomic's free-to-play strategy title, has entered open beta. To get in on the action, you just need an Origin account.

The game has been in closed beta for a while, but players that have already built huge bases will get to keep them. EA will have new players start on different servers, including the first German server.

After the disappointment of Tiberian Twilight, I'm hoping this foray into the genre will be a lot more enjoyable.

It's tedious like a facebook game is, not even sure if I have the patience to build a base long enough to get to a fighting mission.

ok, played till the first battle, all you do is upgrade your troops, put them in waves, and hit a button :(

Just watched a youtube video of it. Wow what a joke.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf8sTlr0ZwI
This franchise has gone down hill since the original C&C and Red Alert. I would rather play the original with new graphics then this pile of crap.

Pretty much pay money to get things done faster like any other freemium webgame ever.

This kind of treatment of the franchise is like a bunch of chavs getting up on a stage and goofing off with the sets and costumes of masters, after they've left the show.

More like the stakes are lowered since nobody even cares. :(

As someone working on Generals 2 right now, I respectfully disagree. I think any long time C&C fan will be excited by what we have in store.

Hats off to Phenomic for moving into open beta. Looking forward to trying Tiberium Alliance myself.

They should be concentrating on making up for the massive fucking turd that was C&C4. They could just apologize, say we're all going to pretend it never existed, and we can expect a replacement C&C4 next year.
