Star Wars: The Old Republic free weekend begins March 15
by Andrew Yoon, Mar 13, 2012 8:15am PDTBioWare and EA's latest MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has over 1.7 million active subscribers. But a new promotional offer may bring that number even higher.
This Thursday, The Old Republic will have its very first "Weekend Pass Free Trial." This promotion will give newcomers to the game a chance to play for up to four days for free, with no payment method required.
The Trial opens on 12:01AM CDT on Thursday, and continues until Monday, March 19th at 2:00AM CDT. Registration for the Weekend Pass will open on Thursday.
The Pass will give you access to all eight character classes in the game. "Weekend Pass players will have the chance to face off against other players in PvP Warzones, or join up with friends and play through a couple of early faction-specific Flashpoints in the game, The Esseles and The Black Talon," the announcement notes.
If you become hooked, be mindful that The Old Republic carries a subscription fee. After the Trial period ends, you will be able to resume your game for $14.99 a month.
