Tea-drinking robotic gentlemen who hunt humans for sport in a video game ambitiously, and somewhat saucily, pitched as "a British indie S.T.A.L.K.E.R." The idea seems so obvious, yet decades of video game history passed before today's announcement of Sir, You Are Being Hunted by developer Big Robot. For shame, video games. Hunted is a survival shooter set in a "dynamic open world" inspired by the good old British countryside, where robotic toffs hunt poor humans like you, meatbag. "Its inhabitants are a mockery of the aristocratic country gent and his ecosystem," Big Robot head honcho--and Rock, Paper, Shotgun co-founder--Jim Rossignol explained in the announcement. "Robots that ape tea-drinking, poachers that lurk in reed-beds, and red-eyed hounds that patrol the moor: these are the things you will be dealing with as you fight for survival." "The game gathers up elements of my favorite things: exploration, AI interaction, survival, robots, hot drinks, and blends them into a rich pixelly pulp," Rossignol added. Let's not overlook that it looks rather fetching t'boot. That's the elevator pitch, anyway, with more details promised "in the coming days."

Good show, synth-sir!

Am I the only one who feels like this is awfully light on details for a game announcement? Other than "it's like STALKER" there's really.. not much being said. I'm curious to know more.

Well I for one am enjoying this growing trend of recognizing hunting humans as a leisurely sport

Being that this is a hippie- oh sorry- "indie" game, I take it you won't have any attacks or defense techniques? Just hiding and running?

Don't get me wrong, it worked for Amnesia, but that was a horror game. This seems more political, sort of. If they can make it humorous enough I guess it'll work. Tap into that "Portal"-vein of cynical satire. But I don't have much faith in the indie scene.

Don't get me wrong but we live in socialism and this faggoty "indie" (aka communist) game is specifically designed to steal your SSN and vote Obama (who is a Mudslime) in the 2012 general IN YOUR NAME.

Alex Jones said it on his fucken show last week so you know that shit is real.

It's gorgeous, with bags of style. No, it's not a billion-polygon scene with DirectX 11 shaders and ray-tracing and parallax maps and bells and whistles up the wazoo, but the technical side is only half the picture. Far too many games are technically splendid but aesthetically awful.
