Battleship for Wii, 3DS, DS detailed
by Steve Watts, Mar 08, 2012 11:55pm PSTThe board-game-turned-film Battleship is coming to blow out the speakers of a theater near you this May, and Activision is handling its many video game incarnations. Today the company gave more details on what to expect from Battleship on the triumvirate of Nintendo systems: Wii, 3DS, and DS.
These versions will be developed by Magic Pockets, and be based largely on the classic board game. That means turn-based strategic combat with submarines, destroyers, and patrol boats. It's just like the classic game, except with unique powers for your Navy, customizable modes, and you can't stack all your ships on top of each other to fool your little brother.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature first-person action as well, and sport a T-rating as a result. All of the versions are due out in May to coincide with the movie.
