Developer Naughty Dog has announced that a new piece of cooperative DLC for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be hitting the PlayStation Network on March 13. The mode features eight rounds in which players are put up against multiple waves of progressively difficult opponents. The opposition players will face doesn't consist of your standard pirates or mercenaries, but is instead comprised of the fiery, teleporting Djinn seen in the game's single-player campaign.

The new "Shade Survival" mode, revealed on the Naughty Dog website, will reportedly allow players to earn significant amounts of in-game cash, contributing to quicker character level-ups. New mode-specific medals can be earned, and rounds include specific objectives to complete from time to time. For example, the "Marked Man round objective makes its first appearance in an Arena setting as a certain Djinn will be marked and then heavily protected by other Djinn bodyguards during the match."

The new DLC will run you $5.99 when it launches on Tuesday, unless you're a member of the Fortune Hunters' Club. In that case, you'll be able to download "Shade Survival" mode for free. Fortune Hunters' Club memberships can still be purchased for $24.99, which grant access to all fourteen packs of Uncharted 3 DLC content for no additional charge.

A trailer showing off "Shade Survival" mode is also available for your viewing below, to give you a better idea of all the delicious Djinn-slaying that awaits.
