As you may have deduced from the fact that Ridge Racer Unbounded is not on store shelves today, Namco Bandai's car 'em up has been delayed. There's a little more tinkering to be done under the hood before those bonds can be broken, see.

Unbounded is now slated to launch "later in 2012," to give developer Bugbear Entertainment "some additional time to pack the disc with features that will truly make the game sing."

Ridge Racer Unbounded is headed to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Namco Bandai says it'll announce the new release date and pre-order bonuses "shortly," along with more features.
