Finally, after days of rumors and leaks, Ubisoft has finally released the first video for Assassin's Creed 3. As previously reported, the game takes place during the American Revolution. You assume the role of a new assassin--"a Native American warrior" that "fights to protect his land and his people." In this debut trailer, you'll see the game's massive new environment, and how Ratohnhaké:ton (aka Connor) will use the trees and the wilderness to his advantage.

Ubisoft's official announcement claims Assassin's Creed 3 has been in development for over three years, with "twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game." While Ubisoft Montreal is handling main development duties, "six other Ubisoft studios" have contributed to the project.

Assassin's Creed 3 will be available this October on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. In addition, Ubisoft has confirmed that a Wii U version is also in development. As mentioned by the video, pre-orders will grant players a free collectible steelbook.

I can only imagine how long those credits are going to be.

I remember watching the credits for AssBro and saying to myself "Mother of god..." at how many people were involved in that game.

PS I'm typing with my boner right now.

definite purchase. I just *really* hope they give some story behind the jump to the new continent with the PIECES OF FUCKING EDEN before delving into our new assassin's bio.

I finished AssBro and read the wiki on Revelations - it does transition there.

Actually looks pretty cool, I just have zero interest in the time & setting. But I'll probably still buy it and play it like all the others. Love the series.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they used those flags that early. ... yep, I was wrong. I thought it was two years later. This is why I love these game, because for the most part the non-fiction checks out in ways that most developers don't care to even do a google search for.

I just can't get over the control lag in these games, they feel so clunky and unresponsive, after brotherhood I gave up, and Rome was a really poorly done town, hard to traverse and boring.
I might be wrong but unless they really gutted the engine I can't see how it can become fluid and 'tight'
