Mass Effect 3 trailer prepares for launch

BioWare has released the Mass Effect 3 launch trailer in preparation for the game's release next week.

Mass Effect 3 is less than a week away, unless you've already retrieved your copy from being stuck in a tree, and the marketing machine has been set to "full blast" for weeks. Just in case you need to see one more trailer, the last video salvo aimed at getting you excited, BioWare has released the launch trailer.

The trailer runs the gamut, from the loss of innocent life on earth to Shepard's last-ditch effort to form alliances and stop the Reapers, to some sweet love-making. Because Shepard always has time for love, usually before a game's final boss.

Mass Effect 3 will be available on March 6th.

Man I just can't watch these trailers without getting distracted by the music :P

All of their live actions trailers have used songs from Two Steps From Hell which I like to listen to all the time

I looks like Shepard has seen better days. He looks pretty run-down. In mass 1, he starts with a fu-man-chu, now he's rocking a full beard. It looks like he's been beat up a bit too. I guess that's what happens when you kill a few reapers and then have to defend the galaxy!

Don't forget, in ME2 he got "SPACED", then Cerberus put him back together...some of his parts weren't his originally ;)

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I guess dying and comming back could take it' toll on a guy.

Hearing Garus say his line in that trailer gives me goose bumps!

I really hope those aren't his dying words or some crap like that. I'm not ready to see Garrus bite the bullet. I freaked out when I thought he died on Omega...

If it's from one of the POSSIBLE endings however, I have to say I'm excited!

Yeah. Garrus is my favorite. I think I would really hate it if I lost him. I freaked out when I thought he died during my suicide mission. He was hit by a stray bullet, but didnt' die. For me, loosing Garrus in Mass 3 would be pretty emotional.

If it doesn't end with him being promoted to Spectre status I will be upset.

Did any one go back and replay chunks of Mass Effect 1 or 2 save a particular crew member? I think if would have lost people like Wrex, Garrus, Tali, or Mordin I would probably go back. For the most part I am going to stick with crew losses going in to Mass Effect 3.

I really hope there is some option at the beginning like in ME2 with the comic book intro. I don't have time to finish ME2 again to fix my fucked up save before ME3 hits.

That ending can't be exported to ME3 anyway, which ME2 tells you clearly. I doubt anyone got it unintentionally either. I had to actively try to get it.

What a witty front pager you are?!?

No I messed up the romance and I didn't import the ME1 save where I killed off Carth.

In the Mass Effect 3 podcast on Giant Bomb, Casey WIlson said there will be some character creation / backstory coverage for new players like there was in ME2, but it's not going to be in depth as you probably want. I think the PS3 ME2 comic book thing was specifically brought up and shot down, so major decision stuff only most likely, if that.

The only things I care about are:
              -Wrex Saved
-Kaiden sent to the depths of hell
-Romance with Liara through both ME1/2
-Everyone saved at the end of ME2

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Sadly they are marketing the DLC as 35 minutes of additional gameplay for 9.99 which really means the average person will be done with it in 15-20
