The much-anticipated HBO Go app will be coming to Xbox 360 by April 1. HBO fans might recognize that as the start date of Game of Thrones' second season, so you'll be able to dive back into the critically acclaimed series using the new functionality.

HBO co-president Eric Kessler gave the word at a San Francisco HBO event, reports Engadget. HBO Go was promised for early 2012, and has been one of the most requested of the TV apps for Xbox Live. To use the service, though, you'll need a compatible cable subscription, an HBO subscription, and an Xbox Live Gold account. The app makes it convenient to watch HBO programming on your schedule, but it's not a ticket to catch HBO shows without paying for cable.

Other TV apps expected for Xbox Live include Xfinity On Demand, which will also require an existing cable subscription.
