Its never worth it anymore to just buy the game such as this since there will always be an ULTIMATE SUPER HOLYSHIT edition.

I have no regrets about buying Mortal Kombat on launch day.

MK doesn't usually double dip like Capcom fighting games. Other than "Ultimate MK3" I can't think of a time when they have, other than re-releasing ports of older games on newer consoles, which I don't think happened until this gen.

Furthermore this MK was released a year ago. So unless you like waiting a year for a chance at a possible upgraded edition I'd say its very worth it.

Also unless I'm missing something this Komplete edition simply has the DLC bundled - something an earlier adopter has been able to buy for quite some time.

Yep. This is just the regular game with all the updates and DLC included in one package.

It's more like a GOTY edition than anything else and it's fully compatible with the original release.

Kenshi is really good and fun to play with. Freddy is also really good character if you learn his zoning tactics.

Oops, pressed the reply button too quickly.

Anyhow, Rain seems to be very good also but i never really tried him and i got bored of Skarlet after one or two matches with her.

The difference is that this game is no different at all from the standard purchase. They emphasized the compatibility with the standard. If they released exclusive content that forces you rebuy the game (cough capcom) then I'd be a bit upset. This is an attempt to combat 2nd hand sales by reintroducing the product at a fullprice again.

The problem is of course that if they release this, they may take out the existing content on the digital marketplace. Failing to do this, will actually backfire as the original packaging will probably diminish in its price. Customers can buy the original second hand and buy all the content online. They'd probably save $5-$10 in the process.

If Marvel Ultimate Alliance has taught me anything it's that "Gold" or "GoTY" editions usually result in the removal of the DLC content forcing you to buy the complete set on disc. The only losers here are the people that bought the original and failed to buy the DLC when they had the chance. They would be the ones who would have to rebuy the game.
