Battlefield 3: Aftershock pulled from App Store

EA has pulled the free iOS game Battlefield 3: Aftershock, following poor user reviews and complaints of glitches.

EA has pulled its iOS game Battlefield 3: Aftershock due to quality concerns. The free game received poor reviews upon hitting the App Store, and EA's mobile division apparently paid attention to players' concerns.

IGN received a statement on the company, which is fairly blunt about its reasons. "EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favorite EA gaming brands," the statement read. "To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we've received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date."

Thanking gamers for suffering through a poorly-made game seems an odd response for the publisher. Given another Battlefield game is set to arrive on the App Store later this year, we can only hope that those that purchased Aftershock will be better treated next time around.

      Great Editing... or not.

      The article opens by saying:

"... The free game received poor reviews upon hitting the App Store ..."

      And closes saying:

"... we can only hope that those that purchased Aftershock will be better treated next time around ..."

So which is it? Was the game free, or did they charge for it? If it was FREE, I can't see why anyone would have any complaints - the game sucked, they admitted it, and pulled the game.

If they charged for the game, and the people who paid still have the game on their i*whatever, then i still don't see an issue.

Did they pay for the game, and the removal from the app store also remotely removed it from their i device? The article doesn't say.

The downward spiral of shack continues. I miss the old shack.

Are you really criticizing them over one article? Dear god, calm down.

No - I clearly stated I missed the old shack - this kind of poor, careless editing has become quite commonplace on the "new" shack under gamefly control. It really is quite disappointing.

i downloaded this, but all I really wanted was battlelog. I tried to play it but it took so long to fire up a match the screen started to time out and I did something else instead.
