Face-shooting fans, prepare to return to Pandora on September 18, when Borderlands 2 will arrive on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developer Gearbox has also unveiled the in-game goodies you can snag by pre-ordering the shooter-RPG sequel, and blasted out a new trailer.

Pre-ordering from Amazon or GameStop nets you "membership" to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, which comes with a selection of in-game goodies. You'll get "unique" Gearbox-styled golden guns, a Relic to "boost your gear-hunting fortune," and a key to "unlock a rare item in the mysterious Sanctuary Loot Chest."

One might speculate that, like the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club, joining this Club may get you other perks down the line too. Unless Gearbox simply has an unhealthy club fixation.

I wish I had enough faith in Gearbox to preorder this. I will just have to wait and see if they can follow some of the other recent dev houses and make a proper PC port. I used to wish they would put a fov slider in the game options. After playing Borderlands 1 I would be happy with editing an ini file to permanently change the fov. Alt binding the move forward key is not a solution if they want my money.

I had great fun with borderlands 1. 4 player coop was just plan good times. I wasn't looking for superb story or writing or graphics. it was just fun.

I need some more SHOOTER LOOT

The last one was a perfect example of a consolized mess on the PC. I hope they fix that this time around. That, and release it on Steam and they just made a boatload of profit. The game was really fun after I fixed it. If I have to manually fix it again then I won't buy it.

indeed, a very rough console port. oh also gamespy matchmaking - that must not have such problems as well. then the whole lost save game issue.

I know that borderlands is very good for coop. I don't really play any coop. Is there a singleplayer campaign? Is it worth getting for just the singleplayer/story?

It's like Diablo2, you can play SP, then in co-op the numbers/toughness of enemies scales up.

I like SP in BL better because I don't have to share guns. I like SP more generally anyways. It's more immersive, and I can go at my own pace.

Passed on the first because of gamespy but this sequel is almost certain to use Steamworks so I am on board this go around.

Even with the terrible gamespy - the first is still a complete blast :)
