Tekken Unlimited Tag Tournament 2 announced for Japanese arcades
by Andrew Yoon, Feb 17, 2012 4:30pm PSTTekken Tag Tournament 2 isn't available on console yet, but that hasn't stopped Namco Bandai from announcing a follow-up. The publisher is showing off Tekken Unlimited Tag Tournament 2 at AOU Amusement Expo in Japan, and it promises a number of rather drastic changes.
For example, Unlimited will allow for one-on-one fights, in addition to the two-on-two fights that are at the core of the Tag series.
According to Andriasang, Unlimited will let you play as one-versus-two as well. Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada says that the game has been adjusted so that one player can "cope" with two opponents. Talk about being a show-off!
The announcement is only for arcades, but these updates tend to make their way over to the console side as well. Unlimited will be a free upgrade for arcade operators--but will Namco Bandai be as generous with the upcoming console release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2? Or will they pull a Capcom and release this as a standalone follow-up later? Stay tuned.
