  Why, in Google Chrome, am I getting my font set to Helvetica on certain webpages? I ask here because it's all the hell over this site...

    Because that's how the page is designed. From the style.css file, line 9:
    font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, clean, sans-serif;

      I found that as well, but when consulting a friend about it, his displays in a non-terrible font.
