Eagle-eyed Arma 3 fans recently spotted that the official site of Bohemia Interactive's battlefield simulator was listing a Q4 2012 release, not the summer launch the developer had initially stated. However, Shacknews has been told this was its target "for some time," and that we'll see open-world RTS reboot Carrier Command: Gaea Mission released before Arma 3.

"We did not reveal an exact release date previously, but our target was for some time and still is Q4 2012 (instead of early plans of late Summer that was announced initially)," Bohemia CEO Marek Španěl said in a statement provided to Shacknews. "However, we are prepared to give development additional time if it will need it to ensure as good an experience as possible."

He added, "Right now we are also finalizing release plans for Carrier Command: Gaea Mission which we definitely want to release prior to Arma 3." Carrier Command was most recently slated to launch, broadly, in Q2 2012.
