Kinect Star Wars releases this April
by Andrew Yoon, Feb 07, 2012 9:00am PSTKinect Star Wars may have missed its lucrative Christmas launch, but it won't be long before gamers will be able to workout their midichlorian muscles. Kinect Star Wars--the game and limited edition console--will be available on April 3rd.
The game promises five different gameplay modes, but perhaps the one you'll want to pay most attention to is the newly-confirmed Galactic Dance Off mode.
Hinted at months ago, Galactic Dance Off is "loaded with Star Wars-themed pop tunes where those still honing their Jedi skills can take a break to battle Darth Vader on the dance floor." Seriously.
For slightly more serious Jedi-themed antics, you may want to check out the Duels of Fate mode, which has you battling iconic Star Wars villains "on your journey to become a Jedi." There will also be space battles, speeder bike races, and other non-dancing activities in the game, Microsoft promises. Best of all, these antics will be playable in 3D.
If you want an early playable demo of the game, you'll have to brave the 3D re-release of The Phantom Menace at AMC Theaters. "Select" theaters will offer a playable demo on February 10th.
