FPS-RTS Natural Selection 2's long gestation will end this summer, when Unknown Worlds' multiplayer evolve 'em up launches for PC, Mac and Linux. The announcement came alongside a huge patch updating its pre-order beta build with a few fine features from the original Half-Life mod that'd been missing until now--jetpacks and the alien Onos class.

The 'Gorilla' beta update also brings heaps of optimizations, balance tweaks, fixes, and more shiny new things. You can get instant beta access by pre-ordering Natural Selection 2 for $34.95, which activates on Steam.

      i lost many summers from 2003-2005 because of the original. so no way am i playing this game

        i was gonna post a picture of the screen you see when an onos devours you but i couldn't find one. wonder if it's in ns2 yet i haven't played gorilla
