Prototype 2 'Radnet Edition' announced; PC edition delayed

There's kind-of-good-ish Prototype 2 news, and there's bad Prototype 2 news. The bad news is that the PC edition has been delayed until July 24. The kind-of-good-ish news is that a "limited launch quantity" of console copies will contain a single-use code that will unlock 55 pieces of downloadable content.

There's no word on why the PC edition has been delayed until July 24, with Radical merely saying on Facebook that it "unfortunately" has. The console editions are due on April 24.

Free access to the 'RADNET' DLC package will come through a single-use code included with "a limited number of the launch quantities" of Prototype 2 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. How limited? Activision doesn't say. Will it be available another way? The answer--at least at launch--is no. "During the launch period of Prototype 2, the only method of gaining access to RADNET content is via purchasing a new copy of Prototype 2 while supplies last," an official Q&A states. If you're dead certain you want to buy Prototype 2 and scoop this extra DLC, Activision says pre-ordering will guarantee a copy of the RADNET Edition.

The 55 items of DLC "include in-game Events, Challenges, Avatar Items, Dynamic Themes and Behind-the-Scenes videos, as well as bonus Mutations for Prototype 2's main campaign," Activision explains. They'll be released in weekly bundles across seven weeks following the launch of Radical Entertainment's super-powered open-world fleshfest.

"Radical Entertainment has always focused on bringing long lasting fun to its fans, and Prototype 2's RADNET content is our way of rewarding the game's most loyal supporters--the early adopters, the ones who will replay it over and over again," Radical studio head Ken Rosman said in the announcement. "We think this is great because we're giving our fans hours of additional gameplay outside Prototype 2's main narrative, and cool rewards--all delivered weekly following the game's launch!"

What a crock of shit. This is truly becoming fucking ridiculous with delaying the PC version of games. As for the DLC yea I'm sure the PC will not see it.

Remember what they did with Dead Rising 2: off the record. I'd like to see the flipside to this story (as I really don't find this new character interesting at all...)

"Our biggests fans deserve more", so, the ones that doesn't preorder the game are second quality customers and have to grind daily challenges to get some mutations that should have been in the game in the first place?.
And obviously you won't get them before completing the game if its one challenge a day, so... they will be completely useless.

Thats a pretty dumb marketing / game desings decision.

Guess they won't be getting my money this time. And Prototype 1 was an insta buy for me.
