Konami Digital Entertainment's bundled high-definition remakes of the original Silent Hill games are planned for a March release at retail for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Now, it appears as though the games included in the Silent Hill: HD Collection are likely to see individual digital releases on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well, at least in Europe.

The European game ratings entity known as PEGI has recently rated both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 for both Sony and Microsoft's current generation of consoles.

Industry news site Siliconera also points out that Konami's Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection received similar treatment, with Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: PeaceWalker all receiving individual digital HD releases on the PlayStation Network in Japan. Those digital releases are also slated to hit on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network in North America sometime in 2012.

The North American retail release of the Silent Hill: HD Collection is slated for a March 6 release.

I really do like the convenience of buying them digitally...eh, I'll still buy the disc. Might even buy them both ways, and keep the disc as something nice on my shelf.

It's still fucking bullshit that the best SH, namely the first one, is not included.

I like them all, weird and confusing but still enjoyable. I think the only one I have not played is shattered memories.

So you played Homecoming? I'm in the middle of it right now, and it seems okay.

Two reasons for that: First is that it would be hard to upscale that game and make it look good whatsoever. Second is that most fans of the series prefer the second game, so they figured they'd throw in three as a bonus.
