Report: The Old Republic 'unsubscribe' option missing for some

Some users are reportedly having trouble accessing the "Cancel Subscription" option for Star Wars: The Old Republic. BioWare is looking into the problem, and suggests canceling by phone if you're having trouble online.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has its share of bugs like any large-scale MMO, but one error is getting in the way of even quitting. Some users have complained that the "Cancel Subscription" button has gone missing, right on the eve of the free month expiring for launch day buyers.

Before you grab your tinfoil hats and take to the Internets to stage a revolt, though, know that Massively reports that BioWare is looking into the problem, and so far it seems to think the error is with some browsers. In the meantime, BioWare is recommending that you give them an ol-fashioned phone call to cancel if you're having trouble doing it online.

"We are aware there is an issue with account management on our website and apologize for any inconvenience," a representative told Shacknews. "We have identified the issue and can confirm it will be resolved shortly."

lol, I think someone suggested that the system and site were grinding to a halt because of the heavy waves of people loging in to cancel. Regardless, the idea of the cancellation site not working is rather funny. SWTOR: Buggy Right to the END!

That's such bullshit. I went to doublecheck my cancellation on my main computer and got put in a queue. Looked at it for about two minutes and tried on my second computer and the fucking forums came right up.

WoW at launch was a lot shittier than SWTOR has been by far.

            Nothing.

Sometimes... I think some gamers have too high of expectations.

I can't wait to see what people say about Blizzard's next MMO when it's launched.

I just logged in to the website, it was fast, and there WAS a cancel button.

Although my 180 subscription is billed tomorrow. I think I'll let it go through.

Fuck the haters, this game is fantastic.

Hoth I think. Wife is playing a BH only because they get a jawa, but she ended up liking the class.

Same with smuggler! Need more variety of companions.

People want to hate this game, but I don't get the complaints. Yes, it's buggy; it just came out. MMOs at launch are buggy, always. The questing can get boring after a while, but rolling an alt in the opposite faction for a different class refreshes the experience greatly. If you're quitting after leveling just one character, you're missing out on a massive chunk of the game.

Pretty much. At this point I've starting ignoring all the SWTOR bashing comments everyday because they're generally just people who don't even play that are posting them.

yeah I'm loving the game and until now had been pretty anti MMO. the only complaints I have are pretty minor. I'd like to be able to fast travel directly to my ship, or at the least ride my speeder to teh ship the entire way.

          yeah that's about it...

I played two weekends of the beta, I anticipate that I will be buying this within the next month or two. Hope there are still enough shackers that are playing by then.
