Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance director is Bayonetta main programmer
by Andrew Yoon, Jan 18, 2012 9:45am PSTThe revamped Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the result of an unlikely collaboration between two of Japan's biggest development studios: Kojima Productions and Platinum Games. While they're both helmed by some of the gaming industry's most recognizable icons, neither Hideo Kojima nor Hideki Kamiya are taking the director's role of the game.
So, who is? The relatively-unknown Kenji Saito is overseeing Raiden's action-packed return.
A report translated by Andriasang reveals that Saito has had a long-running relationship with Kamiya. He started working on Viewtiful Joe, and has since rose up the ranks to eventually become the main programmer on Bayonetta.
Given the bizarre, over-the-top action featured in both games, Revengeance's new direction seems to make some sense.
According to the report, Revengeance will be playable at E3 this year.
