Hudson to be fully absorbed into Konami on March 1st
by Steve Watts, Jan 18, 2012 7:15am PSTJapanese developer Hudson will officially be absorbed into Konami Digital Entertainment and cease to exist as its own entity on March 1, according to a notice issued by the company. Board members agreed to the shift in a meeting held on January 12. Konami plans to consolidate its social and mobile development at one location.
While the Japanese filing (via Andriasang) seems to suggest that Hudson is defunct, the brand may live on. An updated statement suggests that products and services will still be released under the Hudson name. From a consumer standpoint, we shouldn't notice much of a change.
This is the conclusion of reports that have been developing since this time last year. At one point a rumor circulated that all Hudson 3DS projects were canceled, which Konami promptly denied.
