The cartoon-spooky Kinect game Haunt will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade next week, January 18, for $10 (800 MSP). The first-person haunted house game was tentatively due in 2011, though no concrete date was set, but it slipped into this year.

A NanaOn-Sha representative confirmed the date and price to Joystiq. Haunt is being published by Microsoft Game Studios as one of five Xbox 360 exclusives revealed at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show. It comes from the mind of Masaya Matsuura, the man behind Parappa. If that doesn't push your zany buttons, the lead is being voiced by Double Fine head Tim Schafer, after he impressed the team with his GDC speech.

Hmm..it looks interesting. I played Rise of Nightmares (Didn't like the tank-like controls). I'm hoping MS game studios can make the controls more responsive here. It would seem that since they are first party and are very familiar with the technology, they should be able to develop controls that feel as responsive as something like Child of Eden, Gun Stringer, Fruit Ninja Kinect, or Dance Central. I also like the price tag. :-)

I laughed like a crazy person when I chainsawed a bunch of zombies in Rise...but then just waking down a hallway....I felt like a resident evil character in how I moved.
