Starhawk free DLC planned

Starhawk, the spirital successor to Warhawk, is set to receive "a bunch" of free DLC as well as the usual paid offerings, developer Lightbox has said.

Paid downloadable content has produced some delicious fruit (video game stuff) that might not have otherwise received the water (money) it needed to grow (be made), but it's always nice to simply pluck a blackberry from a bush as you stroll down a country lane and pop it in your mouth (get free stuff too). Huzzah, then, that Starhawk developer Lightbox has said that its spirital successor to Warhawk will see "a bunch" of free DLC as well as paid add-ons.

"Actually, I can't go into specifics, but we do have a bunch of free DLC planned... and it might be surprising," senior producer Harvard Bonin told RespawnAction.

"We, of course, have stuff we are happy to take your money for, too! We rethought our DLC strategy and we'll reveal more about it as we get closer to release."

That release will come this summer exclusively on PlayStation 3, preceded by a public beta. If you played in the private beta, keep the client on your PS3, as Lightbox president Dylan Jobe has said that you'll be able to simply update that to the public beta build 1.2.
