Patch 1.1 for Star Wars: The Old Republic has launched on the public test server. While eager beavers can rush in to try it now, the rest of us can be satisfied with the patch notes for now. The first "content update"--not the first patch--brings bug fixes, balance tweaks, a new level 50 Flashpoint, and more.

The patch notes have the full rundown of version 1.1's changes, though no word on when it'll roll out to regular severs.

For raiders, there will be the new level 50 Flashpoint, Kaon Under Siege, while all Flashpoints will give more money from drops and some non-boss Flashpoint monsters have been rebalanced.

On the PvP front, level 50 players will no longer be matched with lower-level players in Warzones, while several changes target the oft-exploited PvP zone Ilum. A number of players have been temporarily suspended or even permanently banned after cheating its objectives for fun and profit.

1.1 also adds a graphics option so simple and commonplace that it's baffling why BioWare didn't include it from the start--anti-aliasing. Players will no longer have to root around in config files to enable the smoothing, as there will be a shiny new option in the preferences menu.

Do check out the full patch notes for the rest.

This, so much. The armor textures are so blurry I feel like I need my eyes checked half the time.

I'm confused about this, its already in my game client, I wonder if they mean more AA options, like 2x, 4x, 8x 16x and so on.

I've been forcing on 4X MSAA with the 12.1 preview driver app profiles and it's been working pretty good. When I enabled it in the game's INI, it had a bunch of weird artifacts, presumably they fixed that now...

I hope this in-game AA option doesn't fuck up spell/ability effects like the ini settings did (for ATI, at least) ˃:(

I could live without AA if the textures didn't look like horseshit.

        Seriously.

PvP right now comes down to which team has the most 50's (or the best premade, which usually follows the same logic). It really isn't fun on either side. I have a 50 jugg in full Champion gear who is a fucking boss ... but so useless without a team that it really just isn't fun when grouped with a bunch of sub-20 players.

Meanwhile my 25 operative is fun as hell until some geared level 50 decides to make me their bitch the entire round (and this happens relatively often).

Would you prefer waiting over an hour per queue to be placed against all 50s?

i don't understand your post. As I user, why would I want to know see a report of all players that are AFK? Why are people AFKing a problem for MMOs?

AFKing is a big problem for pvp warzones, where people think of it as free xp/valor.

Lots of people also do it as free trip back to the fleet if you time out.

        CTRL-/

        Open new ticket

        "DUDERJEDI is AFK in warzone"

Just open a ticket. The functionality is there if you want them to know, it's not a AFK tool, or whatever, but it works just as well, just takes effort.

then ignore them for now and go on with the game. It's not worth getting flustered over this early in the game. Yes, there is shit missing, a AFK reporting tool, a LFG tool (not the "flag" there is right now) etc. They'll come, just need to be patient. I'm sure a AFK reporting tool is fairly low on the priority scale.

I'm really liking the look of the Ilum changes, hopefully they work correctly because right now Ilum is so "broken".

I guess I'm not understanding them properly; are the changes going to require you to fight someone of the opposing faction? Because on my server that amounts to making the dailies impossible to complete. The faction imbalance is just too ludicrous currently. Even now it basically resorts to 15 empire waiting around for 1 republic guy to come up and flip the zone. If the change requires combat then it will get even worse (ie: the republic won't come because of the overwhelming number of empire waiting for them).

It looks like you how have to kill players of the opposing faction or collect "armaments" from the center. Yeah, it sounds like it will suck for you, hopefully it will get better. The real problem with Ilum right now is that it is detrimental to getting your daily/weeklies done if you engage in any pvp since you have to have opposing players "flip" the zones and the only spawn point is back at your base. There have been a few situations where I sat at one of the points with Republic players flipping them back and forth just so we could get our dailies done. I hope that these changes actually help to turn Ilum (the open world pvp zone back into a pvp zone).

I can't believe how many people are 5, and have been for a week or two.

      My main is level 33.

I guess compared to modern mmo players my leveling rate is considered glacial...yet it's still fast as fuck. The game just launched!
