Monolith Productions' odd Batman-themed first person shooter has been given a last-minute delay. Originally scheduled to release on PC, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network next week, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Gotham City Imposters will be coming in February.

No reason was given for the delay.

Based on his experiences in the beta, Shacknews' Steve Watts called Gotham City Impostors "a pleasant surprise," adding that "it stands on its own as a solid multiplayer shooter with a few smart new ideas, wit, and a great sense of personality and humor."

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

Thank goodness Monolith finally has a publisher that understands hard deadlines + rushed development = games that perform poorly in the open market. Take your time guys, make sure the game is good, out of the box!

I'd delay it even further. The PC beta was abysmal.
