Choplifter HD releases on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 next week
by Andrew Yoon, Jan 04, 2012 7:15pm PSTBased on its title, you can probably tell that Choplifter HD is an HD remake of something. Not everyone will remember the original Choplifter's release in 1982--but that hasn't stopped developer InXile Entertainment from making an Unreal Engine-based revamp of the game.
Choplifter HD will be available on PC, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade next week: January 10 on PC/PS3, and January 11 on Xbox 360. All three versions will be $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points.
The full game promises to offer 30 missions "ranging from straight prisoner extraction to dropping off saboteurs." Oddly, there will be a number of cameos from other games hidden in the adventure, including Duke Nukem and Super Meat Boy.
Jeff called the game a "fun reboot of a classic game that should appeal to newcomers, as much as it does fans of the original" in his preview.
