BioWare 'looking at' Star Wars: The Old Republic Mac client

BioWare is "looking at" producing a Mac client for its recently-launched MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, so while you'll still need thousands of midichlorians within your cells to control the Force, you may not necessarily needs Windows in your PC.

You need thousands of midichlorians within your cells to control the Force, Star Wars fans horrified by George Lucas pretend not to know, and you need Windows in your PC to play Star Wars: The Old Republic. However, developer BioWare has now said that a Mac client for the recently-launched MMORPG is "definitely" something it's "looking at next," and hinted at other platforms.

"We know there's a big Mac audience of BioWare fans ... we know that's an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience," CEO Ray Muzyka said.

"We've done a lot of Mac ports before of our games," Muzyka told Massively. "We haven't announced any details yet for The Old Republic, but we know that's an important and large audience."

BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk added, hinting at platforms beyond Mac, "That's definitely one of the things we're looking at next. We want to get this launch under our belt and everything stabilized and happy, and then we'll look at other platforms, and that's obviously one of the first ones."

Launching on December 20, The Old Republic racked over a million players by December 22, and over 60 million hours by December 26.

The lack of a Mac Client is the only thing keeping me from playing. I could Bootcamp my Macbook Pro but not for one game, so bring it BioWare.

I'm looking at the AA that's used in that screenshot that doesn't come built into the game client.
