Metroid creator debuts Kiki Trick for Wii

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and Metroid creator Yoshio Sakamoto show off Kiki Trick, a new sound-based game coming from the WarioWare team.

Last night's Nintendo Direct broadcast showed off a new Wii game from Metroid creator Yoshio Sakamoto and the WarioWare team. Kiki Trick features a collection of fast-action mini-games -- a bit like WarioWare, but less wacky and centered around the concept of sound. The game will hit Japan on January 19, but no US or European release plans have been announced.

You can see the games in action below, punctuated by Iwata chatting with Sakamoto (in Japanese). One mini-game has garbled speech and tasks the player with finding a missing piece, the next has players match one of four videos to a sound, and the final has players pick a sound to match a picture.

This game looks as straight as a twelfth degree polynomial.
