Now that the NES and GBA Ambassador games have hit for the 3DS, Nintendo has mostly made good on its promise. Now Nintendo is starting to fulfill the last piece, with updates to the NES Ambassador games that enable a few new features.

TinyCartridge reports that the updates are rolling out in Japan, starting with The Legend of Zelda. The update adds a prettier icon, a digital manual, and probably most importantly, the ability to create and load restore points.

Nintendo hasn't given an ETA on the updates in North America or Europe, but seeing as the Ambassador games hit all three territories almost simultaneously, we can probably expect them soon. Nintendo had also mentioned vague plans of multiplayer for the NES Ambassador games, but we haven't heard more specific information on what that will entail.
